Parent and Carer Survey

2018

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took time to respond to our recent survey. We had 146 responses, slightly more than for our last survey in November 2016.

Our survey was based on the questions that Ofsted use for their Parent View survey and it was encouraging to see a noticeable increase in the number of parents and carers who agree or strongly agree with each of the statements (shown in the green lines in the tables below), which reflects the hard work that the school team have been doing over the last two years. 90% of people who responded said that they would recommend Goose Green to other families, which is broadly in line with our last survey, and we’re hoping to see that grow even higher as the impact of our improvements comes through in our Key Stage 2 SATs results.

We really appreciate your continued support for the school and our wonderful teaching team, as well as the helpful and encouraging feedback that you provided (including comments highlighting areas that parents and carers would like to see improved). We have read through all of your detailed comments and will be taking these into account as we develop our plans for the future of Goose Green.

You will have seen Mr Wattam’s letter on 4 May 2018 with an update following our most recent external review, which provided very positive feedback on the school’s progress and the impact of the actions that the school has been taking. We’re confident that the sustained focus and excellent work of our teaching team is raising standards and that this will be reflected in future results.

As the survey is anonymous we’re not able to reply to individual comments. But if you would like to discuss any points that you’ve raised or to ask any other questions then do please get in touch with governors by email at chair@goosegreenprimaryschool.org or by letter via the school office.

Mr Wattam and the school Senior Leadership Team are also always at the school gate at the start and end of the day and are very happy to make time to talk through any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss. Any parents and carers who aren't able to talk at these times are always welcome to get in touch with the school office to make an appointment to speak by phone.

Best wishes,
